01Who we are
GetSolace (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is an independent software studio based in India, working with clients worldwide. For India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”), we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here. Under the EU and UK GDPR, we act as the data controller for personal data you provide to us directly. Reach us at hello@getsolace.in.
02Information we collect
Information you give us
When you email us or start a project enquiry, we collect the details you choose to share, such as your name, email address, company, and the contents of your message. We only ask for what we need to reply and to scope your project.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider may process basic technical information needed to serve the site securely, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, recorded in standard server logs. We use this to keep the site running, safe, and fast, not to build a profile of you.
Preferences stored on your device
We store your light or dark theme choice in your browser’s local storage. This stays on your device, is not a cookie, is not sent to us, and contains no personal data.
We do not run advertising trackers, sell personal data, or use your information for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
03Why we use it
We use personal data for specific, limited purposes:
- To respond to you when you contact us or ask about a project.
- To provide our services and manage our working relationship with clients.
- To operate, secure, and improve our website.
- To meet legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
We use each category of data only for the purpose for which it was collected.
04Legal bases (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: consent, when you choose to contact us; performance of a contract, to deliver services you engage us for; legitimate interests, to run and protect our business, balanced against your rights; and legal obligation, where we must keep records. Under the DPDP Act, we process your data on the basis of your consent or for legitimate uses permitted by that Act.
07International transfers
We are based in India and work with clients and providers in other countries, so your personal data may be processed outside your home country. Where it is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to keep it protected in line with applicable law.
08How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law. Enquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted once they are no longer useful. Records tied to client work are kept for the engagement and a reasonable period afterwards for legal and accounting reasons.
09Your rights
Under India’s DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to: access a summary of your personal data and how it is processed; correct, complete, update, or erase your data; raise a grievance with us; and nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
Under the GDPR, you also have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing, and withdrawal of consent at any time.
Under California’s CCPA/CPRA, you have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
10Exercising your rights
To exercise any of these rights, or to withdraw consent, email hello@getsolace.in. We respond within the timeframes required by law, and withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. If you have a concern about how we handle your data, you can raise a grievance at the same address. If you are in the EU or UK and remain unsatisfied, you may also contact your local data protection authority.
11Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including least-privilege access, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and careful handling of correspondence. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to limit what we collect in the first place.
12Children
Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
13Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our practices or the law change. When we do, we revise the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we take reasonable steps to let affected people know.
